Science and Faith: Working Together for Good
Jamie Aten: When thinking about science and faith, the two are typically thought to be separate entities. However, in this interview, Elaine Howard Ecklund suggests that science and faith can be one in the same, applying this thought process to the current global pandemic. Elaine Howard Ecklund is the Herbert S. Autrey Chair in Social Sciences and Professor of Sociology at Rice University, as well as founding director of the Religion and Public Life Program. Ecklund is a sociologist who examines how individuals bring changes to religious and scientific institutions. She is the author of six books and more than 100 research articles. Her most recent book is Why Science and Faith Need Each Other: Eight Shared Values That Move Us Beyond Fear.
